our process
1. dISCOVERY & Schematic Design
Each project starts off with a conversation to get to know you; your dreams, your values, and the specifics of your site.
We meet at the site for a design charrette, where we work together to identify opportunities that align with your values and goals for the project.
We research and analyze site opportunities, cultural context, and regulations.
We sketch & test fit design options that meet your specific project criteria while maximizing site opportunities, connecting outdoor spaces, and incorporating passive design strategies..
2. Design development & Documentation
During the Design Development and Construction Document phases, we work closely with our consultants to make sure that the story and core values we arrived at during the discovery phase hold true.
Clear and open communication with you during these phases is paramount. This way we ensure the ongoing involvement and satisfaction of all stakeholders.
We help you make decisions that align with time and budget needs.
3. pROJECT eXECUTION & Post occupancy
Quail Workshop is deeply invested in seeing the project’s successful completion. Our involvement during the construction phase will vary based on the project delivery method, whether it’s carefully coordinating with contractors or submitting for third party certification.
We want our work to last for many years. An important part of this resiliency philosophy is to check in with the project around one year post completion, after the building has been used and lived in. This enables us to share best practices with the collective knowledge around resilient design.
